Beauty Filled Weekly Haul // 2011

So again I've not managed to blog twice this week, but I've had quite a lot going on. I aimed to last night, but I went to the fair that's in town till the weekend. I think we all felt too old for the fair now, it's always the same rides, the same layout, the same stalls. And for someone who isn't a big ride lover, I only really went to see people I hadn't spoke to in forever. This isn't a big haul, just a few beauty and two tops, that were too cheap to miss! :) Also a big Thank you, on Saturday my blog will be a grand two months old and I'm two from 200! Crazy! Thanks to everyone who's sent me blog awards this week! I hope to get a post up by next week to return them! And I'm glad Sophie enjoyed her prize from my give-away she's posted here. I can't wait to see what she buys with the £30 gift card. As for the haul, I'm trying to cut down on shopping to weekly trips, I'm getting there! I'm looking less online too.

Anyone who follows me on twitter, or has followed me from the start or has read my guest post about nail wraps...will know I love them. Well one particular brand. For the past month I've read about Fearne Cotton bringing out her own version of these. She has three designs. All animal print. Correct me if I'm wrong but my store only had three and so did the magazine. These don't need heat, I hate the need for using a hairdryer on my hands and toes and burning myself. I've tested one set of these and I didn't get on, but I'm determined seeing as my town actually had a brand of these in stock. They were £6 & because they're in 3 for 2 in the boots Christmas range, you get three packs for £12! Great deal when nail wraps are said to last 4 weeks on toes and 7-10 days on hands. I'll save my review of these and a design with these soon! I adore the packaging!

On the nail subject, I've also had a few cheeky nail polish purchases. I have around 48-50 nail polishes now. My collection is growing super fast, even with the mother wandering off with a few on occasion. As most know, in Boots, they always have the No7 £5 vouchers, I had one, my Mum gave me hers too and I ended up getting another. So I went in with the intention of either buying brushes or nail polishes. Mine doesn't have the brushes, but they have all the nail polishes. They sell at £7 each, so as you can see with a voucher you can get them for £2! Not normally a fan but the formulas been changed and I now love them. Cheaper than rimmel and more ml's than MUA. After buying one I decided to go back and use my other voucher and the one she'd just given me. So I came away with three nail polishes for £6 instead of £21! :) I picked up the following colours:

  • Oyster
  • Taupe
  • Top coat
Oyster is such a gorgeous colour, I've got it on now, everyone loves it. It feels so smooth and looks very shiny even without the top coat. The taupe is gorgeous, I always have shades like this on my nails in A/W, it really suits me. My rimmel version is running low. And finally the top coat may actually be rivaling the rimmel clear < note I don't use rimmels top coat as it actually makes a horrid top coat and their 60 seconds clear is amazing.

A boring purchase to finish the beauty items before I start on fashion. I was running low on hairspray and hated my current two, so I donated them to my mum, she doesn't mind and got this one. Not completely sold on it yet, I've used this once, it was about £3 in boots - cheaper than Superdrug and actually came with a lid -.- A few more uses and I'll see, if anyone has any decent hairsprays for me to try? Bear in mind my hair is loving being such a pain and unruly at the moment.

Last two purchases, were from a shop I don't even know the name of, does it even have a name? Basically a family opened up in an empty store and are selling cheap clothes, normally I would skip these shops, I don't know why, I just think they're naff here and I'd rather go to Topshop, Newlook and Jane Norman and good old Primark. But I was wrong, they had some pretty decent stuff, cheap sheer shirts, these two I picked up, loads of knitwear the spitting image of topshop, naff boots and horrid bags. But yeah, I was very surprised. Anyone will know I'm a sucker for sheer shirts and peter pan collars at the moment. I'm living in them. These are so thick for the grand price of £8 each?! I couldn't get one top for the price of two anywhere. They're supposed to be fitted but they're a tad big for me they're a S/M wish they did XS/S. Sort of a thicker material of the tops in Jane Norman. Burgundy and mustard, perfect for A/W and have cute polka dots. The button that does up on the back is gorgeous! Better than buttons on my more expensive. I'm sold. They fitted so well I had to get both. I don't normally buy a top in two different colours. But they're cute! The photo's aren't doing them enough justice. They look gorgeous in person. Sorry for the rubbish photo's it's 22:10 here, bad lighting.

That was my mini haul, hope this was of some interest to my lovely followers, I'm thinking about doing weekly nail posts if they would be of interest too. Ranging from nail wraps, to nail art, plain and combined. Also on Saturday I'm getting my eyebrows waxed as normal but I'm also getting them tinted, this is pretty new to my salon so the girl's doing free eyebrow tints.

So...? Eternal // Review

Hello my lovelies! So this is the post I've been most excited about to write. About two weeks ago So...? Fragrance approached me and asked me if I'd like to collaborate with them! I'd only been blogging for two weeks! Hence I got a little excited because I thought I'd be talking to myself and knew you had to have 600 plus for most companies to even drop by ;). I agreed and received these two products about 10 days ago. I've used these every single day since (so has the mother, who's sneakily had a few rather generous uses ;) ) Now I have had one of the products before in this scent and I've grown up using So...?

For anybody that hasn't heard of So...? Fragrance's their card claims to be London's hottest fragrance and a fragrance with attitude. Every scent is completely different, hence showing a different 'attitude' There are scents for everyone and super affordable. Amazing offers are going on, on their website right now! Perfect for all of you going back to school, college and University. Of course you don't have to be teen to use these products, my own Mum does.

Onto the two products. The team at So..? sent me one 150ml body fragrance and one 30ml eau de toilette. Both are in the matching scent of So...?Eternal. Now I had, had the body fragrance in the mini handbag size once before, around Christmas time I always pick up these in the three for two offers in stores. Sadly ladies you can't buy the body fragrance off the so...? website in the 150ml size they sent me, I'm special ;). It's a shame because I love the shape of the bottle. The ordinary bottles are just your bog standard straight up circular spray cans, in the same pattern (each scent has it's own pretty design). The 150ml I feel looks more 'attractive' with more of a curve. Now the next product you can buy three sizes. I received the 30ml they also do a 50ml and 100ml. As you can see from the photo's the bottle is pretty plain and simple. Easy to hold. Made of glass. I prefer the perfumes in this design of bottle. The perfumes from so...? that I've had in the past were in square glass bottles. This to me actually looks more like a perfume bottle. An added 'charm' of this scent is that inside the bottle it has a tiny pink gem stone! "To celebrate the 'diamond in the rough' quality in every girl, a small precious stone is added to every bottle for that extra sparkle." Who doesn't want pink and sparkle!

For a body fragrance the scent is pretty strong! The scent lasts all day and that's without using the eau de toilette as well. The perfume is stronger and I can still smell it before my morning shower! I'm addicted to this scent. Some nights I've sprayed it on me again to smell even more gorgeous! How did So...? pick the right scent for me! The scent is such a 'girlie' scent. It's very sweet. I'm not a fan on too floral scents. This is full of citrus, vanilla and musk. Here's the description of the scent from the website: This dreamy love potion includes notes of Pink Pepper Passion, a hint of Lemon & Clementine, complimented with orchid, pink peony & violet. Encapsulated with amber, vanilla & sandlewood. It's a very feminine scent and even though it is rather sweet you don't have to be a teen and in your early 20's, my Mum loves it too. One or two spritz of this and your good for day! A lot stronger than some of my more expensive perfumes!

If your wondering about the prices since  I said how affordable So...? is. The body fragrance is £2 for 75ml. 30ml EDT £6, 50ml EDT £10 and 100ml EDT £15. And if that's, not good enough they've got so many offers going on over on the website. So...? were also kind enough to let my readers have a discount code of a very generous 30%! 'Surprise' This is a brand I truly do adore and believe in and I'd buy these products again and again like I previously have!

Monthly Fashion Favourites // August 2011

Hey lovelies! So much for trying to blog twice a week, another weeks passed! I thought it was about time I posted a monthly favourites, I love reading everybody's. I've already wrote one monthly favourite for this month, featuring my top five beauty products which will be appearing over on Glitzyqueen next week! Here's onto my top five fashion favourites.

1. A few of you that follow me on my twitter, may of seen me always moaning when I buy jean jeggings that they are never tight enough at the bottoms! I've had so many different makes and even super skinny are too baggy or after a few washes they stretch! I've found my perfect blue denim jean jeggings a couple months ago (juicy couture) and now I've found a black pair to replace my falling apart Next jeggings. These may even be better than my Juicy's. They're plain black, pockets on the back and fit my 'chickeny' legs (well I doubt they'll end up looking chickeny now I've said ;) ). They have a button and zip like skinny jeans. They fit like a glove! These heavenly jeggings are from Gap. I've never had anything from gap before but Fleur mentioned in videos that these were on sale. If you have chickeny legs like me I suggest you buy these! I got mine in a 25W (UK 6-8) They're perfect and so soft! P.s I have no full length mirror in my room yet, so I have to use my chair and short square mirror ;) I'll get one soon, new furniture in a few weeks.

2. Item number two is my newest pair of heels! I got them back on my birthday (15th July) They're from Jane Norman, I wanted these back in the winter and the stores never had them. But on my birthday they had one pair, in my size (size 3) and half price!! £20, pretty cheap for how good quality they are! (I must of had a guardian angel that day!) They fit my tiny feet snug and are the best fitting heels I own. I adore shoe boots. They go with most outfits being neutral. I love them. They're about 4-5 inch high. I was supposed to do a birthday haul back then, but a dreadful sickness bug delayed me from starting my blog! On my own birthday night!

3. My last favourite clothing piece. This I also picked up on my birthday from Jane Norman and it was half price! I'd also spotted this piece the month before and it'd gone offline down to their huge sales from administration. I adore the brand Jane Norman and was gutted when I heard! But who can grumble with most things heading into the 50% sale they had and still going. This was the last UK size 6 there! Again it was obviously meant to be. This is what I tell myself when I shop to get away with it ;) I got this for £14. I've worn this to death this past month, with a matching strap top underneath. Dressed it up, dressed it down. I love my sheer shirts as you'll know from my previous post. Again not having a full mirror it's hard to really take photo's because I hate the cam on my macbook. Yes the tag is on, because I took this meaning to use it in a haul in July, the lighting today is rubbish to take a new photo! I hope you don't mind.

4. The lovely Sophie from The Secret Avenue was asking for name suggestions for her store she's setting up online. So I suggested a few names that helped her. In return she sent me this gorgeous bracelet. Technically I received this on the 1st September, but I picked the colour of the beads and the charm back in August. I adore this bracelet, it's my kind of jewelery. I love anything with swallows on and  jade coloured. And it has a little bow on too!. She packaged it nicely in a little bag. And the note she sent with it made me laugh. The beads are really good quality. I hate buying bracelets in Newlook for £8-£10, where the beads are cheap and worse than Primark's quality. The beads aren't too heavy, I hate weighty beads. Lastly it doesn't fall off my tiny wrist! I have the most narrowest wrists. Thank you so much Sophie again, I've already thanked you hundreds of times on BBM. I sure will buy myself some more when your stores up and running. It really deserves to be in my favourites.

5. My last favourite is another accessory. This I picked up on my holiday back in July. I picked up a whole lot more, but this really is my favourite and has been worn to death the past month! It's so different, I've never seen a ring like this. I love the colours. I love the whole peachy/orange colours at the moment. It was a bargain of 4 or 5 euros! But I do find for a size small it can slip a bit. I just have diddy fingers. The whole store was having a sale! This was also going to appear in my holiday haul but again by the time I got over the sickness bug it was too late. I may do a collective haul of the summer? I loved every store where we stayed, no silly little fashion shops that aren't at all fashionable. These were shops I'd actually shop in and lots of designers. Heaven. One happy Lucy. The place had it all. The quality of this photo is horrid on blogger...on my macbook it's fine? Well you get the gist of how it looks! It was the only one in the store too!

So that was my top five fashion favourites of August. If this is popular I'll do this next month too. Leave a comment telling me your top five or a link or if you like any of mine. I love reading favourites posts. I promise I'll soon get a full length mirror to do outfits of the day (I've had quite a few requests.) But at the moment there's no room and I have all new furniture coming.

P.s Is anybody interested in having a room tour blog style? And storage tips of a small bedroom! Who hates being the youngest! :)
