I've always been a big fan of Bourjois' makeup from a young age, they constantly bring out new products all the time, however I hadn't looked at their stand for quite a while. The first item to catch my eye was the Magic Nail Polish Remover.
Why I purchased
The one thing I hate about painting nails, is the removal. It takes ages, it's annoying and so many removers ruin your nails these days. Remover pads are just 'icky' and greasy and sound be banned if it was up to me and many of the liquids just burn invisible cuts. The idea of a nail varnish remover absorbed in a sponge inside a screw top pot isn't exactly new, nor is the idea of scented polish.
How to use?
Simply unscrew the top and one finger at a time, dip down into the hole. Then simply twist and remove. Repeat 3 times and you are glitter polish free. Twice to be sure with normal polish. It's not '1 second' for the entire removal, but each dip. It's a lot easier than scrubbing or looking like a tit with foil on each nail. Your finger isn't left greasy like most polish removers. Polish from previous uses does not attach itself to you either.
Put to the test: Budge that glitter
I've picked my most annoying glitter polishes for this test.
What do I think?
As it's my first pot I'm unsure how long it will last for, however I have used it a fair bit since buying and haven't noticed a difference yet. Any product that removes glitter polish as quick as that is pretty damn amazing! This will be the only polish remover I'll purchase, though I'll still need remover for toes! The fruity scent could be made stronger, as the actual remover itself is still pretty strong. You get the occasional whiff of vanilla and red fruit. I highly recommend trying this, even if you've not liked others in the past. 10/10.
I actually want to try this given the hype surrounding it and its amazing claims to remove glitter nail polish in a matter of seconds. Whilst I am not a huge glitter fan I have been known to dabble once in a while and the removal is what puts me off plus this will be perfect for travelling as so often I avoid taking polish remover for fear of it leaking.

Hmmm I'm not sure about this... maybe because of the price? As I'm a nail tech I always have a massive bottle of acetone about for soak-offs so it makes no sense for me to go and spend an extra fiver on this. But I've heard good things about it and it would be interesting to hear how long it lasts before drying out xx
ReplyDeleteI think it's nice to have some 'luxury' to come home to :) I personally hate a lot of acetone as it wrecks my natural nails. It's def worth the money.

One thing I hate about wearing glitter varnish is how awful it can be to take it off. Lately i've even ended up varnishing over the glitter because its that stubborn. so i'd really be tempted by something like that, even for the price which is double what i'd normally pay for nail varnish remover. The only concerns I'd have is how long that sponge would last.
ReplyDeleteOh god, good luck when it does come to take off :P It's seriously great!
DeleteI think it's going to last a long time, really full of liquid and from a great brand.

Ugh I know exactly where you are coming from! This looks great, thanks for the pictures showing us how well it works! I don't think I'd spend £5 on it though. XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteHaha, i just hate it, i use so much polish remover, literally half a bottle on some polishes, I never use the shops own brands only the cutex :D But this beats it.

I love the idea of this! Getting rid of glitter nail varnish sounds like a dream too! But because its almost a fiver it does sound expensive aha :P Think i'll try it after my other bottle of nail varnish goes down!! xxx

Thanks for the review on this. :D I want it. Removal is a pain in the arse so this is brilliant as taking it off is tiring and tedious for me D:

ReplyDeleteIt really does, totally worth the price when you think how much you use when trying to remove.

CHRIST ALIVE. I'm going to buy some of this in town today; I have so many amazing glitter polishes that I love but I never use them because I dread the removal.
