Bomb Cosmetics // I actually had a bath that wasn't LUSH!?

Good Evenings lovelies, I was supposed to post this last night but that didn't happen. I was in town yesterday where I noticed the little store that sells yankee candles now stocks Bomb Cosmetics. It was then that one of the smaller items caught my eye, my Mum's old work gave her a few amongst her leaving presents - note she still hasn't used them. They always look so pretty. If you haven't heard of Bomb Cosmetics, a lot of youtubers feature them comparing them to Lush, they sell just as many handmade soaps, bath bombs and shower products.

I picked up Wild Strawberries Bath Mallow £1.99, the larger size retails for £4.95 - a lot more than Lush. Bath Mallows are Lush Bath Melts. They're the powdery items, that instead of fizzing quite abruptly, they froth ever so slowly - too slowly in my opinion. The product won't give you an exciting bath, the water will remain clear/cloudy. You will find the scent in this case - strawberries meet champagne, to stick around to your skin BUT it's nothing to write home about. The strawberry pips whizz around your bath eventually and there's actually ALOT. Why so many pips!? Did BC throw an entire punnet of pips into my Melt? They stuck to my skin which is an absolute no, no. Pure Hell. The melt did moisturise...BUT look at the water it created? It's just not up to par with Lush Cosmetics. It's messy and takes such a long time to dissolve. When I pay the extra to have a 'bath bomb' or similar I expect a better experience and not something I'd get if I were to ever have a go at making my own. I'm sure in times to come I'll try more products from Bomb Cosmetics but at the moment they just don't meet the standard Lush set. I'd give this a 6/10. Have you tried these products before? What did you think? Lucy x

  6. I discovered Bomb Cosmetics a while ago on their website, then was excited to find a little shop in my hometown selling a few products there just before Christmas :)

I tried the Christmas Pudding melt, which was lovely smelling but had chocolate on top, which like your strawberry pips, GOT EVERYWHERE!! I mean chocolate all around the bath :-/ The scent of the melt was amazing though!

Definitely will try a few more Bomb Cosmetics products :)

    Also, your nails...wow!!

  7. I have tried bomb cosmetics before and to be honest i dont really like them as much as Lush either, i feel that they smell a bit 'chemically' if that makes sense... and the bath bombs come wrapped in plastic that i can NEVERRR get off :P..(which is also rubbish for the environment ;] doing my part haha)
But I dont mind the 'creamers?' i think thats what they're called lol..I think i just like the petals/glitter/bits that come out of them :P i do know that ther is one bath bomb by them i do love the smell of though but i cant remember the name of it, its green with 100&1000's on top and smells of apples..yumm!! xxxx

This does sound nice, products with 'bits' do annoy me though x

  9. These arent actually a bath bomb but a mallow. It is a compacted with cocoa and shea butter and can only disolve when rinsed under the tap, not actually in the bath x

    1. Thanks for your comment Amy but I do know it's not a bath bomb. I did state in my review that it's basically their version of the bath melts from Lush (which Lush have now changed to Bath Oils) and therefore won't fizz but melt very, very slowly. "Bath Mallows are Lush Bath Melts. They're the powdery items, that instead of fizzing quite abruptly, they froth ever so slowly - too slowly in my opinion."

This melted much slower than Lush bath melts and they were slow. I'd be worried if after 10 plus years of shopping at Lush that I didn't know the difference between such products. Maybe you're confused by when I wrote "When I pay the extra to have a 'bath bomb' or similar". I didn't enjoy the bath product, I haven't purchased any products from BC and any interaction I've received since has been very very negative. I hope you have a lovely day and again thank you for your comment. Though I hope one day people understand that we can have different opinions and what works for some, doesn't work for others. If you go on BC website I used the product correctly also. x
