Berry Delight Cupcakes | Lucyy Bakes

Writing up this latest Lucyy Bakes has made me want to run into the kitchen and whip up another batch!! These were the Mother's Day cupcakes that disappeared within the day. If you can resist decorating these cupcakes they're best eaten straight from the oven while the juices are bubbling.
Preheat the oven to 160C, line your trays with pastel cases - why? standard white cases just aren't quite the same. Beat your butter and sugar together as usual, before gradually adding the egg. Stir in your milk, followed by sifting in all the dry ingredients. Add your blueberries and watch how your mixture starts to marble slightly. Wait till they're out the oven, it feels wrong to hide their beauty! Bake for 10-15 minutes, depending on ovens and leave to cool. Decorate how you wish, I always end up with butter cream frosting and the kitchen turns into a winter wonderland. My flower decorations are by DR Oetker - there's sherbet hidden away inside! Let me know if you try these, Lucy xx

Home Decor | GHD | eBay | Haul

Sitting down to write this haul I was sure there wasn't actually that much to share but it seems that I have in fact ended up on another crazy decor spree over the last couple of weeks. I've also managed to finally treat myself to new GHD's and boy am I happy with them, along with a few other small products and 'bargains'. Though before I purchase any new releases I'll be making myself sort out what I already own.
Home Decor | Mirror | Dunelm Mill | Candle Holder | Dunelm Mill | Curtains | Home Senses | Curtain Pole | B&Q | Cushions | Asda | Garland | Melody Maison | Phone Accessories | Phone Case | eBay | Headphones | Asda | Beauty&Fashion | GHD's | Amazon | Onesies | Peacocks | Perfume Set | Next | VO5 Hot Oils | Boots |
I seem to always scour the Internet for the perfect mirror, most I find are either too short or too long. Finally my mirror search has ended, with Dunelm coming to the rescue. The mirror retails for £19.99, it's actually ridiculous. I own the full length of this style which retails for £29.99, both of equal quality and 'true glass'. While in Dunelm I spotted another candle holder, I own one exactly like this and whenever I go they're out. This cute holder was sat all alone in the wrong section for £1.49. After Dunelm we ended up next door in Home Senses, I could spend hours, in fact days just browsing in the place. I'd originally spotted a mirror in there however it was faulty, but upstairs were numerous pairs of plain white curtains with small detailing. They originally were £90 however their Home Senses price, £19.99. Arriving home I placed an order with Melody Maison for another floral garland. As always their delivery was incredibly fast and free!
Then, to go with new curtains you have to have a new curtain pole - mine didn't go with my room. B&Q have this floral pole for £19.95. Though if you follow me on twitter you'll already know my tale. They decided to send curtain rings by courier on Friday while the pole in a lorry Monday. Before packaging the curtain pole in a box as long as my hall way...three times the length of my pole. Yesterday my Mum surprised me with two new cushions, so I now have a ridiculous amount of cushions on my bed. Apparently they're from Asda, for just £5 each! The perfume set was also from my lovely Mum, while the Hot Oils were purchased with Boot's points.

Moving onto small purchases, I picked up a new phone case on eBay. This time it hasn't broken and now holds the title for the longest surviving case for Lucy. To some of you it'll be hideous, but most seem to see the cuteness I do and most importantly my iPhone 5 is protected. Along with being a case it's also a stand, a miniature and definitely prettier version of Apples iPad Smart Cases. The cupcake headphones were lying in the wrong place in Asda....half price, ending up in the trolley mysteriously...
Some how I ended up joining the onesie club this week, I came across short onesies in Leopard print & Polka Dot online. Since they aren't your ordinary onesie it made it acceptable to order the two from Peacocks - a store I have never purchased from!? A UK6/8 fits perfectly and with 20% off (if you pay by paypal) I saved on delivery. Each onesie retails for £8.
Saving the best item till last, my new GHD's. They were an absolute bargain since I had a voucher towards from Mr professional negligence solicitors and therefore I just HAD to make my order rather than wasting it on yet more makeup and brushes. I only have one face!? The GHD's went up to £130, after I placed my order, result. I made sure I checked the item link, even though it was Amazon compared to a random seller or store. As soon as they arrived I plugged the straighteners in and got to work on my curly hair. Wow, these turned curled hair into smooth, perfectly straight hair compared to my Gold Classics and Classic styler. What have you been purchasing this week? Lucy xxx

What I'm Reaching For | Lucyy Writes

A few hauls ago I purchased a set of small decorative trays from Next Home. I've been using them to contain products I've recently purchased or in need of, close to hand without needing to scour multiple storage systems in my room. I decided it would be an interesting way to share my weekly reaches with you because sometimes a product just doesn't need a full review. Let me know what you've been reaching for this week. Lucy xx
La Roche-Posay | Cicaplast Baume B5 | Soothing Repair Balm*
I've mentioned this product before on my blog multiple times, though in it's larger size. La Roche-Posay have recently released a 40ml tube perfect for your handbag. My full size tube has been in and out of my handbag and tray since the weather decided to head back to winter. The cream has many uses, from being suitable for use on babies, cuts and bruises to eczema and even sensitive enough for your face. You can find my full review here.

Burt's Bees | Beeswax Lip Balm*
I own many Burt's Bees lip balms due to the large lip balm set I received. I found my old favourite (grapefruit) starting to irritate my chapped lips so I've moved onto the original. The original balm from Burt's Bees soothes and refreshes my lips with it's menthol cooling sensation.

Ginvera | Green Tea | Exfoliating Marvel Gel*
A new product to my skincare routine has been this exfoliating gel from Ginvera. Containing green tea this thick green gel exfoliates without being scratchy and uncomfortable, combats shine while removing dead skin and banishing blackheads.

Vichy | Normaderm | Hyaluspot*
This next product from Vichy is the reason why I have *almost* blemish free skin. I've mentioned a similar product from Elemis before on my blog, which I still recommend, though after a while it can appear slightly drying. Vichy's addition is a much thicker gel that seems to work faster again without drying the area after multiple uses. The first sign of a spot brewing and I'll grab this tube from my tray.

Nars | Velvet Matte Lip Pencil | Sex Machine
When my first trio of Nars products arrived I wasn't so sure if the lip products were going to suit me, especially when I noticed Sex Machine was in fact a Matte finish and many other lip pencils in my collection are incredibly sticky *Topshop*. However despite all previous experiences with similar products, Nars couldn't be any more different. Being a Velvet Matte finish my dryness isn't highlighted so much and paired with Nars Sexual Healing Lipstick I now have my perfect lip duo.
L'occitane | Hand Cream | Original
I'd lost this tube amongst my many other products, until last week where I thankfully found it...though it's on it's last legs as you can see. This has to be the best hand cream I've used. It's thick, nourishing and luxurious without being greasy.

VO5 | Hot Oil | Nourish Me Truly
When I was a child I can remember my Mum purchasing these for all of us, especially when it came round to holidaying though for years I hadn't used them. Recently I've readded them to my routine, weekly and remembered how great they were. If your hair gets a lot of heat a box of four treatments comes under £5...or in my case free on your Boots points!

Head Soothe | Headache Stick
I've always had a little stick in my bag over the years. Over the last few weeks my headaches have been daily, with pressure mounting up to cause troublesome nosebleeds on top of everything else, ugh. Although I take painkillers for them - as we all do, it isn't enough and I find that applying a dab or two to my forehead really helps. I know others don't recommend them but they work a treat for me and my family, we all have them. There's similar on the market...usually retailing for £6, where as Head Soothe retails for just £1. Just don't let anyone kiss your forehead when you've applied this. Oops.
