Have A LUSH Mother's Day // The Washing Up Fairy

Just like any other collection LUSH brings out I get excited and purchase 90% of it. Mother's Day this year really appealed to me, now there's no chance of me getting any of these gorgeous items on Sunday, as there aren't any mini me's, thankfully. If you've read my previous Mother's Day post, you'll of seen three of the Mother's Day wands in the Mother's Day gift sets. Though one of the 4 wands has certainly created a buzz this year, LUSH's world's first solid washing up liquid. Not all Mum's will enjoy receiving this, even if it is adorable, however the idea is for you to do the washing up. Rather than her or the dish washer.
The Washing Up Fairy retails at £3.75, like always can be purchased in stores and online. This will certainly cause a stir when someone tells you to pass the Fairy. I love how LUSH are bringing out limited editions of the bubble bar wands on every collection. Hopefully they'll get an actual bubble bar wand in their permanent collection soon. Though this is marketed as washing up liquid, I do wonder if it'd be any good as an actual bubble bar. Who knows, I'll have to test it out. It can't do me any damage, it's LUSH?
I hate washing up unless it's a few items, because the girly girl in me hates to chip and mess up her nails. However, with this product to test out, I have done the washing up a few times and this smells 10 times better than any other 'Fairy' washing up liquid in our house. The lemon scent is so much nicer, really does smell like lemon meringue pie. My hands felt moisturised after washing up, certainly beating regular washing up liquids.
The design is of course what attracts people to try out this product, if it was plain, boring and shapeless I don't think many would bother! However with it's bright green wings and pink fairy character, this will brighten up everyones kitchens this spring. It's certainly the cutest wand LUSH have created and one of the cutest products from them of all time. The fairy sits on the 'wand' stick, just like the bubble bar wands. So hopefully she doesn't fall off. She seems sturdy from the few uses so far. 'Relax I'll wash up tonight, Mum!' adds the finishing charm to this product.
How to use this lovely product? Start running your washing up water, swirl your fairy, around as the bowl fills, bubbles appear instantly, I was impressed with how many bubbles it produced. Thick, creamy bubbles, that made my hands feel softer and cleaned the dishes well. I feel like I should do one of those adverts where they compare to 'regular washing up liquid'. You'll get a lot of uses from this, as you're only using a washing up bowl compared to a big bath.
When I reached enough bubbles, which didn't take long at all, under a minute, I stood this up in an empty jug, for it to dry out and didn't drip it's bright green colouring anywhere. You won't get bright coloured water at all, sorry if you got excited, but it's not bath time.
This is definitely an odd creation from LUSH, however it works well and smells nice and left my hands softer than regular washing up liquid. If yours does happen to break, don't get rid, you can still swirl it. It's worth a try and a cute idea to make up a gift for your Mum or to use with small children, train them early... Have you got your hands on one of these yet?
I'd give this a 8/10.
Disclaimer: This was a sent to me. My review is still 100% honest. You know I'm the LUSH queen/junkie!
