Carmine // February 2012 Beauty Box

Hi lovelies, after my disappointment with Glossy Box, I moved straight onto Carmine. I found the link online for £5 a box, great. This included delivery. So I really paid £2.25 for the box and products alone. Bargain. Carmine this month has provided a well presented box, as normal, black, green and red packaging is a nice change to pink. Though my lid was broken. Boxes aren't as strong. Like most beauty boxes, Carmine has now created their first drama with February's Box. So here's what I received.

Andrea Fulerton - Nail Varnish - Eliza: What a gorgeous colour and a brand I've been eyeing up for months. It's amazing, the shades one of the petrol polishes, that I want to own. I can't stop looking at mine. Full Size.

White Glo - Professional Choice whitening toothpaste - A strange item to have, but it's nice to try. 24g.

Yardley London - Peony Fragrance - Heard a lot about this scent. This will go to my Mum, not my scent. Smells exactly like a scent she'd wear on evenings out when I was a child. I personally think perfume samples are great in boxes.

Diego Dalla Palma - The Lipstick: An Italian brand I haven't heard of. Smells like the MUA love heart lip balms. Mines a nice peachy colour. Hopefully it'll suit. Very pigmented. Shade 32, looks different swatched, thankfully! This is a mini.

If you subscribed after Feb 21st, Carmine announced you would get a different box. I'm sat here thinking I'm fine, I subscribed the 1st, before reading again and my excitement leaves me. I'm clearly jinxed aren't I with beauty boxes, I was to get the second box. Sorry, Stream Cream it shall be awhile longer till I try you, I don't even know where to buy you!? Then my account said mine had shipped when originals had, Friday. So Monday I'm thinking mine will be here when I'm home. No. It wasn't. Tuesday my delivery date changes to the 5th March!? And today I get told mine actually shipped Tuesday. Over subscribed and not enough samples. You have to agree, the whole shipping, changing boxes, long waits and cracked corner on box, annoying.

The Balm - Frat Boy - All in one shadow/blush: I'm getting quite a blush fan, but ordering my first Mac blush last night and then today receiving a blush as well is a bit.....however it's a nice shade. Full size.

Daniel Sandler - Eye Delight - Ice: Not the easiest of shades to wear so do let me hear how I could get wear out of it. Daniel Sandler is a great brand. Full size.

Despite that I'm gutted I didn't get the original box, the staff are lovely on Twitter & they do get great products and shades, look at that polish. It's beautiful.
However, I suggest prices printed on info cards and stronger boxes and not to start varying products and values of boxes. This is where drama will start, like fellow Glossy Box. Obviously receiving the second box has knocked the Wow factor. But I've got a lot of products and can use them all.
Carmine get 8/10, 9/10 if I'd got the original.

  4. I love the products in this box!
I'm still debating with myself weather to subscribe to a beauty box or not!
I'd use that eyeshadow on the inner corners of my eyes and brow line when doing a black smoky eye..

  9. I got the same box as you, all new subscribers got the alternative I think. I'm glad that I did because I have so many moisturisers already and really aren't bothered about trying the steam cream despite it being so hyped up. Much happier to receive a blush & eyeshadow instead of a moisturiser & shower gel :)

PS I think you can get the steam cream on ASOS. xx

  14. I actually prefer this box as I got the first box as I've been subscribed for 3 months. The steamcream isn't all that, the smell is very strange and the only thing it's got going for it is the pretty tin. I saw steamcream in Tesco Extra on Friday night for £10.50. I also think the value must be similar if not the same.
