Christmas at LW // The Dressing Table

This year I decided to make my dressing table and surrounding area as festive as possible. In the mornings my table becomes a jumbled mess so in order to get ready in the busiest and most tiring season of the year I reduced the amount of makeup storage and large skincare bottles sat on top in favour of just the necessities.

First to make itself at home was my beloved Scents of Christmas* trio from trusty Neom. Consisting of three travel sized candles, Neom created the perfect taster for their Christmas fragrance collection which all come set in bronze, silver and gold miniature jars. The Scents of Christmas has sold out so fast this year, though all single candles are still available from Neom as are the diffusers (I'm secretly hoping for one to be waiting for me under the tree this year.) Out of all three candles Comforting has been my favourite, due to it's smokey log fire scent mixed with sweet orange and liquorice. If you are familiar with Lush's Tender Is The Night massage bar you'll adore this candle and paired together would make the most magical massage. My least favourite of the trio has to be Christmas Wish, which is a shame as this scent alone donates £1 per candle sold to Make A Wish Foundation. As a fan of cinnamon fragrances I imagined this to be my favourite, it actually made me feel queasy at first though the further into December and actually lit rather than stood alone it's much more pleasant. Last in the set we have Harmonise, this reviving scent of cedar wood, pine and eucalyptus has kept me going through feeling so run down. Fear not if you missed the trio, with some hunting online it's still available here or simply purchase three individual travel size candles from Neom. Who'd have thought it were possible for me to rave yet again about Neom's Christmas collection?! For as long as Comforting is made I shall always repurchase as my Christmas classic.

To make more room as I mentioned I decided to cut down the amount of palettes that sit on top of my dressing table. Most of them could go, I really don't seem to use them anymore but the makeup junkie inside of me insists on keeping them for that bit longer. I've reached for my Naked family of palettes for months straight, so into a drawer went the cheaper palettes and taking pride of place on top of my beloved candle selection they sit. I'm so excited to now own the Naked 3 palette since taking these photo's. The odd bottles of skincare were also moved into my other storage area's, in fact I've taken up part of the landing with my chest of beauty products in exchange for my Christmas tree to stand.

Moving across we have my little wooden Xmas sign from Melody Maison - AKA the original shabby chic store that doesn't help towards my passion for interior. Usually I avoid such decorations but with the festive season here, who could resist such a simple, affordable piece with cute bows and hats attactched. I also ordered a set of two tea light holders with brush storage in mind. Simple glass jars with vintage Christmas themed scenes and sprinkles of glitter, I don't want to pack them away when January comes. Both items retail for £8.95, I had 10% off due to codes placed in orders for your next purchase, though they do have reductions on at the moment for last minute decorations.

My last festive touch to the dressing table sit round my mirror, I've searched for the perfect fairy lights to team with my floral garland since the summer. Hitting B&Q the day they launched this years Christmas collection I spotted these beautiful lights and just couldn't leave without. I then popped into Asda where the same lights were half the price at £6...and I keep being haunted by them on multiple youtube videos too! It's safe to say these cutout metal pretties will be staying all year round, especially with how difficult they were to untangle. Did anyone else dress up their dressing table this year? Lucy xx
